Level 10 - Train
Video Walkthrough
Objective
Stop the moving train and escape by collecting items throughout the train compartments, solving various puzzles including signal block puzzles, color matching puzzles, spot-the-difference challenges, and track assembly puzzles, operating the train's boiler controls, and finally pulling the brake lever to bring the train to a halt.
Step-by-Step Solution
- Start in the train corridor - tap the curtain on the right window to pull it down and collect it
- Collect the Chip (#1 of 2) and the Cornice (curtain rail) from the window area
- View the light fixture on the ceiling of the corridor - use the cornice on it to dislodge and collect another chip (#2 of 2)
- Tap to view the panel on the left wall - add both chips to start a puzzle
- Solve the signal block puzzle by moving the block with the symbol from the top right to the bottom right position
- Once solved, the door opens - enter the passenger compartment
- In the compartment, collect a handle from the coat pocket hanging on the left
- View the table in the center - collect the candle from the candlestick and the spoon from the cup on the right
- Tap to view the window - read the note stuck to it which shows a time (9:30) and a message about the train leaving from South Station
- Exit to the corridor and view the 'V' plate on the far left wall
- Use the spoon on the 'V' plate to remove it - collect a key from the hole behind it
- Return to the compartment and view the cupboard door under the table
- Use the key to unlock the cupboard - this reveals a color matching puzzle
- Solve the color puzzle by arranging the colored circles in rows to match the colors of the buttons on the left side
- Once solved, the cupboard opens - collect a bottle of White Rum and a Button (Button 1 of 4)
- View the curtain in your inventory - combine it with the White Rum to create an alcohol-soaked curtain
- Exit to the corridor and view the door at the far end
- Add the handle to the hole at the bottom left of the panel
- Use the alcohol-soaked curtain on the dirty screen on the right to clean it and reveal an image
- Tap the handle to move it - this reveals a second picture on the left side
- This creates a spot-the-difference puzzle - find all 12 differences between the two images
- Once completed, the door opens to reveal the train's cab (engine room)
- Enter the cab - view and open the blue toolbox on the left
- Move items around in the toolbox - collect a screwdriver and a knife
- View the boiler controls in the center - tap to view the two dials at the top
- Set the dials to 9:30 (the time from the note on the window) - the left dial to 9, the right dial to 30
- Pull the green handle after setting the dials
- This opens the doors to the firebox below - use the candle on the fire to light it
- Return to the passenger compartment
- View the seat on the right - use the knife on the green button stuck to the seat to remove it
- Collect the button (Button 2 of 4)
- View the table again - place the burning candle back in the candlestick holder
- Tap the piece of paper on the right side of the table - it will be placed on the candle and reveal a secret code (931)
- View the briefcase on the seat - use the code 931 to open it
- From the opened briefcase, collect a button (Button 3 of 4) and a Four-way wheel brace
- Exit to the corridor - view the handrail on the right wall
- Use the screwdriver on the handrail to unscrew and remove it - collect the handrail
- View the floor of the corridor near the center - use the knife on the protruding carpet to cut it away
- View the panel underneath the carpet - use the Four-way wheel brace to open it
- Collect the shovel blade from the opened panel
- Combine the shovel blade with the handrail in your inventory to create a complete shovel
- Return to the cab - view the box of coals on the left
- Use the shovel on the coal box to dig through it - uncover and collect a button (Button 4 of 4)
- View the left window in the cab - there is a panel with 4 colored holes
- Add all 4 buttons to the panel - this starts a button movement puzzle
- Solve the puzzle by moving all 4 buttons simultaneously using the arrow keys to fit them over the 4 holes at the same time
- Once solved, the door opens - view the step in the open doorway to find a key
- Collect the key from the step
- Return to the passenger compartment - view the table
- Use the key to unlock and open the top drawer of the table
- Tap inside the drawer to start a matching puzzle
- Solve the puzzle by tapping the blue icons to swap them until they all match with their corresponding orange icons (e.g., hook matches with fish)
- Once completed, collect a Chip from the drawer
- Return to the cab - view the control panel on the right
- View the glass panel - add the Chip to the slot at the top to open it
- This starts a track assembly puzzle
- Solve the puzzle by dragging track pieces from the right side and forming a complete track from the top left to the lower right
- The pieces will snap into place and turn dark grey when positioned correctly
- Once the track is complete, pull the brake lever to stop the train
- Exit the train to complete Level 10 - Train
💡 Tips & Tricks
- The note on the window showing 9:30 is crucial for setting the boiler dials correctly
- The signal block puzzle starting positions may vary, but the goal is always to move the symbol block to the bottom right
- The color puzzle requires matching colored circles to the button colors on the left - take your time to arrange them correctly
- The spot-the-difference puzzle has exactly 12 differences - look carefully at both images
- The button movement puzzle moves all 4 buttons simultaneously - plan your moves carefully to align them all at once
- The track assembly puzzle pieces will snap into place when correct - look for the dark grey color change
- Make sure to collect all 4 buttons before attempting the button movement puzzle
- The code 931 is revealed by placing the paper on the burning candle - don't skip this step
- The shovel is created by combining the shovel blade with the handrail - both items are needed
- Keep track of which areas you've explored - the train has multiple compartments (corridor, passenger compartment, and cab)
⚠️ Common Mistakes
- Not reading the note on the window - missing the 9:30 time clue for the boiler dials
- Trying to solve the signal block puzzle without understanding the movement mechanics
- Not collecting all 4 buttons before attempting the button movement puzzle
- Forgetting to light the candle before trying to reveal the code from the paper
- Not cleaning the screen with the alcohol-soaked curtain before attempting the spot-the-difference puzzle
- Trying to solve the color puzzle without matching the exact color arrangement
- Not finding all 12 differences in the spot-the-difference puzzle
- Setting the boiler dials incorrectly - remember it's 9:30, not 9:03
- Not combining the shovel blade with the handrail before trying to dig in the coal
- Trying to solve the track assembly puzzle without understanding that pieces snap into place when correct
- Not pulling the brake lever after completing the track puzzle
