Level 3 - Locked Apartment

Video Walkthrough

Objective

Escape from the locked apartment by collecting items, solving puzzles, crafting tools, and navigating through the apartment's rooms. This level introduces lighting mechanics, chess puzzles, combination locks, pipeline puzzles, and multi-room navigation in an apartment setting.

Step-by-Step Solution

  1. Start in the dark apartment room - collect the broom from the shelf on the right side
  2. Use the broom on the switch located on the same side to clean it and collect a chip (1 of 5)
  3. Click on the switch to turn on the lights and illuminate the room
  4. Look up at the lampshade hanging from the ceiling in the center - collect Chip 1 from it
  5. Examine the armchair positioned to the right of the table - zoom in and collect Chip 2 hidden on the cushion
  6. Inspect the floor rug in the left corner of the room - lift up the corner to reveal Chip 3 and a match underneath
  7. Check the center of the table - collect the sleeping pills container
  8. Examine the stack of books on the table - collect the rope that is wrapped around them
  9. Look at the chair to the left of the table - notice the broken leg standing upright and collect it
  10. Approach the fireplace and use the chair leg to push aside the coal in the firebox
  11. Once the coal is moved, collect the handle and queen chess piece that were hidden underneath
  12. Turn your attention to the decorative box sitting on the couch - use the queen chess piece on it to activate the chess puzzle
  13. Solve the chess puzzle by repositioning the queens so that no two queens can attack each other - they must not share the same row, column, or diagonal
  14. Rearrange the queens: move the queen from E7 to E6, move B6 to B8, relocate C8 to C1, and shift G2 to F2
  15. Collect Chip 5 (the last chip) after completing the chess puzzle
  16. Go to the window at the back wall of the room and attach the handle you collected
  17. Interact with the window again to close it - closing the window causes the snow outside to melt, revealing a hidden box below
  18. Interact with the box that appeared - you'll need to use your collected chips to unlock it
  19. A color-matching puzzle appears - place each colored chip onto the circle that matches its color (the specific order may differ for each player)
  20. Once all chips are correctly placed, a hidden compartment automatically slides down, exposing a magnet - add it to your inventory
  21. Open your inventory and combine the magnet with the rope to create a magnetic retrieval tool
  22. Locate the fish tank sitting on the chest of drawers to the left of the window - use your magnet on rope to fish out a key from inside the tank
  23. Use the key on the door on the right, then click the handle to open it and enter the kitchen
  24. Explore the kitchen area - start by collecting the newspaper lying on the kitchen table
  25. Open the refrigerator/freezer unit and check the top freezer compartment to find frozen meat
  26. Notice the keys hanging on the back of a chair - take them and use them to unlock the left drawer, then collect the knife inside
  27. Kneel down and look under the sink - collect the rubber gloves from there
  28. Find the trash bin also located under the sink - tip it over, clear away the garbage, and retrieve the fuse hidden at the bottom
  29. Go back to the main room and examine the striped cushion on the armchair - use your knife to cut it open and find a key inside
  30. Take this newly found key to the door on the left side of the room - using the key reveals a complex mechanical lock puzzle
  31. Solve the lock puzzle by sliding bars and moving screws up and down in the correct sequence
  32. Slide bar 2 to the left to move screw B and C up, then slide bar 1 all the way to the left
  33. Slide screws A, B and C down, move bar 3 as far left as possible, move screws D, E and F up, then move bar 2 all the way to the right
  34. Slide screws D, E and F down, slide screw H up, move bar 4 as far right as possible, move screw I up, then move bar 3 all the way to the left
  35. Slide screws G, H and I down to move bar 4 all the way to the right and open the lock
  36. After opening the lock, you'll see a fuse box - take the fuse from your inventory and install it in the top slot
  37. Put on your rubber gloves for safety, then turn the fuse switch - this activates the electrical system and lights up the room
  38. Now that the room is illuminated, you can enter it
  39. Search the room and find a brown toolbox positioned on the right side - open it and take the screwdriver
  40. Approach the clothes dryer and while wearing your rubber gloves, safely pull out the electrical plug from the wall
  41. Open the dryer door and remove the clothes inside - check the pocket of one of the garments to find a screwdriver bit
  42. Examine the dryer's power cord - use your knife to cut it and collect the plug with attached wire
  43. Head back to the kitchen and locate the microwave - use the plug with wire on the microwave's damaged cord
  44. Carefully connect the wire pieces together by clicking multiple times until they're properly joined, then plug it into the wall socket
  45. Place the frozen meat inside the microwave and securely close the door
  46. Look at the top right corner of the microwave - there are control dials that you can adjust
  47. Study the four cups on the kitchen table and observe the positions of their handles - set the microwave dials to match these handle positions exactly
  48. Setting the dials correctly unlocks the button pad at the bottom of the microwave
  49. Press the buttons on the pad and watch as different colored lights illuminate
  50. Recall the clue you saw earlier - when you collected the screwdriver bit from the clothes pocket, there was the word 'MICROWAVE' written above it, with the letters 'WAVE' highlighted in specific colors: red, green, orange, and purple
  51. Press and hold the buttons that correspond to these four colors - specifically the three buttons on the right side and the one in the middle position
  52. The microwave door automatically opens - take the sleeping pills from your inventory and sprinkle them onto the meat
  53. Interact with the meat one more time to complete the preparation and create the sedated bait
  54. Make your way back to the room where the dog is located - use the prepared meat bait on the dog, which will cause it to fall asleep
  55. Collect the wood from the left side of the dog
  56. Collect the kettle from the top shelf at the back of the room
  57. Go back to the main room where you started and approach the fireplace
  58. Build a fire by first placing the newspaper, then adding the wood, and finally lighting it with the match
  59. As the fire burns, it reveals a hidden picture that was concealed above the fireplace
  60. Navigate to the left side room and examine the safe sitting on the table
  61. The safe has a four-digit combination lock with visual clues displayed on top - symbols of a hat, horse, bird, and snake
  62. To find the code, carefully count how many of each symbol appear in both the picture hanging at the back of this room and the picture you just revealed above the fireplace
  63. Based on your count, enter the four-digit code: 5 (hats), 8 (horses), 7 (birds), 2 (snakes) - which is 5872
  64. Collect a valve from the top shelf and a battery from the bottom shelf
  65. In your inventory, assemble the electric screwdriver by combining the screwdriver base, the screwdriver bit you found, and the battery
  66. Return to the kitchen and look up at the ceiling - you'll see a ventilation grill
  67. Use your newly assembled electric screwdriver to remove the screws holding the grill in place - once removed, collect the key that was hidden inside
  68. Go back under the sink and examine the control panel on the left side
  69. Install the valve you collected into the panel - this activates a plumbing puzzle
  70. Solve the pipeline puzzle by rotating pipe sections to create a continuous water path from the inlet on one side to the outlet on the other (note: the specific pipe configuration may vary between game sessions)
  71. Once the path is complete, turn all the valves to the open position to activate the water supply
  72. Take your empty kettle to the kitchen sink and position it under the tap - turn on the tap to fill it with water
  73. The kettle is now filled - add it to your inventory as 'kettle with water'
  74. Locate the stove at the back wall of the kitchen and turn on the burner
  75. Set the filled kettle on top of the hot stove burner
  76. Allow the water to heat up for a few seconds, then interact with the kettle to collect it as 'kettle with boiling water'
  77. Go back to the room where the sleeping dog is and approach the window on the right side
  78. Use your knife to chip away at the thick ice that has formed at the top of the window frame
  79. Pour the boiling water from your kettle onto the frozen lock mechanism - the heat will melt away the remaining ice
  80. Now that the lock is accessible, insert the key you collected from the ceiling grill and turn it to unlock the window
  81. Open the window and climb through to escape, completing Level 3 - Locked Apartment

💡 Tips & Tricks

  • The room starts dark - you must light it up first by cleaning the switch with the broom
  • Keep track of all 5 chips - they're needed for the color-matching puzzle
  • The chess puzzle solution is the same for everyone - follow the specific move sequence
  • The chip color puzzle order may vary, so match colors carefully rather than following a fixed sequence
  • The lock puzzle requires careful sequencing of bar movements and screw positions
  • The microwave dials correspond to the cup handle positions on the table - observe them carefully
  • The microwave button colors match the 'WAVE' colors from the word above the pocket (red, green, orange, purple)
  • The safe code (5872) is found by counting objects in the pictures - hat, horse, bird, and snake
  • The pipeline puzzle may vary, but always requires creating a complete path from one side to the other
